BYD Racing Circuit Charging Project: 480kW Split DC Charging System
High-Power Charging for Specialized EV Facilities
Electric vehicle racing circuits and driving experience centers require charging infrastructure that can accommodate multiple vehicles operating throughout the day.
Unlike conventional public charging stations, these specialized facilities may need to support vehicle demonstrations, driving experiences, testing activities, training sessions, and routine operational requirements.
To address these charging needs, Zilix deployed a 480kW split DC charging system at a BYD racing circuit in China.
The charging equipment was installed in the circuit’s parking area, providing dedicated high-power DC charging infrastructure for electric vehicles operating within the facility.

Optimizing Charging Equipment Placement
The project utilizes a split DC charging architecture that separates the centralized power cabinet from the charging terminals.
This configuration allows the power equipment and charging terminals to be positioned according to the physical layout of the facility.
For racing circuits and EV experience centers, space allocation is particularly important because parking areas must accommodate vehicles, charging equipment, and daily operational activities.
By separating the power cabinet from the charging terminals, the system provides greater flexibility in equipment placement while maintaining high-power charging capability.
The 480kW charging system supports the facility’s vehicle charging requirements across different operational activities.
Specialized Applications for Split DC Charging
The BYD racing circuit project illustrates how high-power DC charging infrastructure can be adapted to applications beyond conventional commercial parking facilities and public charging stations.
Specialized EV facilities may require charging equipment that accommodates varying vehicle usage schedules, designated parking arrangements, and different charging demand patterns.
Zilix provides high-power split DC charging solutions for EV experience centers, vehicle testing facilities, automotive demonstration sites, and other specialized charging applications.
When developing charging infrastructure for these environments, project planners should evaluate charging requirements alongside facility layout and available electrical capacity.
