Public EV Charging Network in Laos: 58 Chargers Across Four Charging Sites
Building a Large-Scale Public EV Charging Network
As electric vehicle adoption expands in Laos, the development of accessible public charging infrastructure has become increasingly important.
Vientiane, the country’s capital, has experienced growing demand for EV charging services, creating opportunities for larger charging facilities capable of serving multiple vehicles.
To address this demand, Zilix collaborated with its local partner to develop a public EV charging network comprising four charging sites in Vientiane.
For the initial deployment, Zilix manufactured and supplied 58 EV chargers supporting GB/T and CCS2 charging interfaces. The equipment was delivered in February 2026.
The project demonstrates the deployment of commercial EV charging infrastructure across multiple locations within a developing electric vehicle market.

Charging Equipment and Software Integration
Beyond manufacturing and supplying charging equipment, Zilix provided technical support for the project’s charging management platform.
Following equipment delivery, the Zilix technical team worked with the local project team for approximately three months to optimize and upgrade the software system according to operational requirements.
The public charging network began operating in mid-2026.
Integrating charging equipment with a suitable management platform is an important consideration for commercial charging network operators, particularly when multiple charging stations must be managed across different locations.
Supporting the Expansion of Public Charging Infrastructure
Following the initial deployment, the charging network attracted EV drivers from surrounding areas, demonstrating the role of larger charging sites in concentrating public charging demand.
The project also provided operational experience for evaluating further network development.
Zilix and its local partner have discussed a second phase of expansion and potential opportunities in neighboring markets.
For charging point operators and infrastructure developers, the Laos project illustrates how charging equipment supply, local partnerships, and software integration can contribute to the development of a public EV charging network.
